The Team

Patrick Shallow

Managing Director

A former senior banker with wide experience, Patrick Shallow founded Credit Expo in 2003 (Founded Finalysis, the parent company, treasury consultancy, in 1990) Prior to this, he was Managing Director of the Metropolitan Building Society and, earlier, Deputy MD of Chartered Trust, the Finance arm of Standard Chartered Bank. In South Africa, he worked as economist with Standard Bank of South Africa, specializing in the analysis of Bank performance and of profitability.

Credit Expo was established for patenting purposes and to promote the ECM credit risk management software.

Patrick has presented regularly on Banking at University College, Dublin, also to the Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers. He is a regular contributor to Finance Magazine and to Global Treasury News. Patrick holds a B.Comm (Law and Economics) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, an M.Sc. from Trinity College, Dublin and has recently completed his PhD on credit risk at the Smurfit Business School. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers of South Africa.

Dr. Dennis Jennings

Chairman

Dr. Dennis Jennings has a wide and varied career:-

Venture Capital: Co-Founder of 4th Level Ventures (2002 to present) – a small (€17 million) Irish Venture Capital company whose primary objective is to invest in companies commercialising the business opportunities that arise from university research in Ireland (www.4lv.ie).

University/Research IT Management: Director of University College Dublin (UCD, www.ucd.ie) Computing Services from 1977 to 1999, with responsibility for the university IT infrastructure and a staff of over 90 people.

Supercomputing: Currently Chairman of the Oversight Board of the Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC, www.ichec.ie). Interim President of the Consortium for Scientific Computing at the John von Neumann Centre (JvNC) in Princeton, New Jersey, responsible for the start-up of the supercomputer centre (1986, on leave from UCD).

The Internet: A member of the Board of Directors of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN, www.icann.org), and serves as Chairman of the ICANN Board Governance Committee.

An Internet pioneer: Responsible for the decisions that developed NSFNET (1985/86), the US research internet that evolved into the Internet, while working for the US Federal Government (on leave from UCD). Actively involved in the start-up of research networks in the Europe (EARN – President; Ebone – Board member) and

Research: Holds a Ph.D. degree for research into sources of high-energy gamma radiation from pulsars (neutron stars) (1972), and a 1st Class honours physics B.Sc. degree, from University College Dublin (1967).

Pintu Jacob

Project Manager and Senior Software Engineer

Pintu Jacob Joined Finalysis Ltd. in July 2007, with 5 years experience in software engineering. He graduated in Philosophy (B.Ph.) from Dharmaram College, Bangalore, India and in Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics (B.Sc.) from Christ College, Bangalore, India. He took his Masters in Computer Application (MCA) from Bangalore University, Bangalore, India. He is highly experienced in software development, especially in Web Applications. As Finalysis Project Manager, Pintu has full responsibility for the development team of the ECM product which is a web application tool. He has also been responsible for the development of the innovative and patented Effective Yield Calculator (EYC) for mortgage businesses.

 

Catherine Shallow

Credit Risk Analyst

With some interruptions for study leave, Catherine Shallow has worked with Credit Expo and its parent company, Finalysis, since early 2007.

Catherine recently completed her MSc(Finance) at TCD. She also holds an MSc (Marketing) from DIT and a BSc ( Sports Management) from UCD.

Catherine is highly numerate, working directly with statistitian, Eamonn O Leary on the statistical analyses and on the developmenmt of key algorithms. She has liaised directly with clients on their needs analysis and in framing the appropriate statistical approaches. Prior to joining Credit Expo, Catherine worked with cosmetics company ,Coty with responsibility for marketing in Ireland. Earlier research experience was gained with Bord Gais.

 

Eamonn O’Leary

Consulting Statistician

Eamonn obtained a BAFS degree from University College Dublin in 2004, and an M.Sc in Statistics in 2005, also in UCD. 'Eamonn has undertaken several assignments for Credit EXPo ,notably work to refine the product's Risk Curve, to measure credit risk in the well performing portfolio and and in relation to the current, highly innovative Scoring Module , for Collections and new business His interests lie in travel, film, reading and sport, particularly cycling around the Irish countryside.
